WLM St Luke's
St Luke’s Hub is a community space focussing on digital and financial inclusion in Kennington.
St Luke’s is a unique community space in Kennington, Lambeth. We provide communal accommodation for low income workers, offices for local start-ups and a wide range of support and education projects for local residents.
Our focus is financial resilience: we want our community to feel strong and confident about their finances: whether this is starting and sustaining paid work, managing household budgets, or accessing the right support services. We empower people to support each other and devise creative solutions to the problems that they face.
Our own financial health is a top priority. We are developing a range of enterprise activities, with the income from our accommodation and office space being essential in allowing us to continue and further develop our work.
Money affects almost every aspect of our lives. It connects closely to our values, hopes and ambitions, as well as our worries, fears and frustrations. Perhaps most importantly, it affects our relationships with others and how we view ourselves.
Money Champions is a project to improve the financial health and wellbeing of clients, staff and volunteers. We help people to feel skilled in managing their money and confident to ask for help when they need it. As well as supporting people to improve their own situations, we empower them to help others: we believe that our financial futures are stronger and happier if we work together.
Interested in training for your organisation?
Our Money Champions workshops are suitable for everyone - from staff and volunteer teams to community groups, faith networks, service users or customers. Our sessions are suitable for people who want to improve their own financial situations, and to those who want to support others. They are always interactive and fun, so are best when they include a good mix of participants who can share a range of ideas and experiences.
Our workshops can be tailored to meet your needs and can include topics such as 'brilliant budgeting', 'switch and save' (in relation to energy costs), an introduction to debt, and our newest workshop, understanding Universal Credit.
