Youth Pastor – for the Next Generation!
Full Time: 36.5 hours per week (including evenings, Saturdays and Sundays)
Salary: £26,872 ILW
Location: Kings Cross Methodist Church
The West London Mission Circuit seeks someone with passion and creativity, who will relish working with young people aged 11 to 30, in one of its two central London Methodist Churches.
King’s Cross Methodist Church (KCMC) has a tradition of working with teenagers, students and young adults of Chinese (Cantonese and Mandarin speaking) origin. This is a new post and the aim of the Next Generation ministry is to reach, nurture and equip the next generation of the church to grow and mature in their faith so that they can serve others in love and become examples of Christ in their respective context. The existing groups have very different cultural, social, and religious backgrounds and this has become challenging for the church. So, we are seeking someone to befriend, care and support them on their life journeys.
The successful candidate will have an understanding of the cultural experience of young people in the next generation, both those born here (BBCs) and those who have moved here from Chinese cultures, as well as the Western context in which they are now living. If you can speak a Chinese language that would be an advantage. You will be educated to degree-level and be a member of a member church of CTBI.
This appointment is subject to a satisfactory enhanced DBS disclosure.

- Interview dates: 18th September, with an opportunity to visit the church and meet people, on 16th and 17th September.
